Both towns sit on the Atlantic and on Metro do Porto’s red line. You get a beach evening and, on most dates, a cheaper room than Ribeira. You still do São Bento, the Gaia cellars and the river in a normal city day.

- Stay in central Porto instead if you want bars until 3am every night.
Metro do Porto: airport, coast, city
- Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport → coast: metro toward Póvoa de Varzim. Pre-book a transfer only if you land late with heavy bags.
- Póvoa / Vila do Conde → Porto: red line. Get off around Trindade, Bolhão or São Bento and walk.
- Last trains: not 24h. Check before a late dinner in town.
