Porto’s airport is close and on the metro. For most people the metro is the answer. A pre-booked driver earns its price late at night, with children, or with more bags than hands.

Four ways in

Metro, taxi, transfer, car

1. Metro, line E (violet). From the station at arrivals to Trindade in about half an hour; change there for São Bento or Gaia. Buy a rechargeable Andante card at the machines. It does not run all night — check the last train if you land late.

2. To the coast. For Póvoa de Varzim or Vila do Conde, take line E and change at Verdes to line B (red).

3. Taxi or ride-hailing. From the rank or pick-up zone outside arrivals. Fine for two people with luggage.

4. Pre-booked transfer. A driver with your name in arrivals, a fixed price agreed before you fly. The calm choice for a late landing, a family, or a group.
