How we earn
Some links pay us. You pay the same.
Day in Portugal is a small, independent guide written by Pedro Carvalho from the north of Portugal. It is free to read and there are no ads. It pays for itself through affiliate links.
What that means
- When a link sends you to a partner and you book or buy, the partner may pay us a commission. The partners we link to today:
- Tours and activities: GetYourGuide, Viator, Civitatis, Klook, KKday, WeGoTrip (audio tours)
- Tickets for sights (Livraria Lello, Clérigos Tower, Gaia cellars): Tiqets
- Places to stay: Booking.com
- Car hire: DiscoverCars, Localrent, Auto Europe
- Airport transfers: Welcome Pickups, Kiwitaxi, Intui
- Mobile data (eSIM): Airalo, Yesim, Saily
- Flights: Aviasales · flight delay claims: Compensair
- Luggage storage: Radical Storage · bike and scooter hire: Bikesbooking
- Travel insurance: Heymondo, SafetyWing
- It is never added to your price. You pay the public price on their page, the same as if you had gone there directly.
- These links are marked
rel="sponsored"and have a small line underneath saying which site they open. - Most of this tracking runs through the affiliate network Travelpayouts, and only if you accept cookies. Details on our privacy page.
What it does not mean
- No one pays to be listed. Tours, hotels and shops are chosen because we would send a friend there. If something is overpriced or the reviews are mixed, we say so — even when it is an affiliate link.
- We are not a travel agency. We do not take payment, hold bookings or handle cancellations. The partner you book with does, under their own terms.
- Prices on our pages are “from” prices we checked on a given date. They change; the partner’s page is the one that counts.
